หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Morphometric Analysis of Three Draco Lizard Species (D. blanfordii, D. maculatus, and D. taeniopterus) (Squamata: Agamidae) from Thailand) ผู้เขียน:Nattawut Srichairat, ดร.พัฒนี จันทรโรทัย, รองศาสตราจารย์, ดร.ประทีป ด้วงแค, รองศาสตราจารย์, ยอดชาย ช่วยเงิน สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractTwo hundred sixty-seven preserved specimens of three Draco lizard species from Thailand consisting of D. blanfordii (17 females and 70 males), D. maculatus (58 females and 79 males) and D. taeniopterus (13 females and 30 males) were examined using 21 morphometric characters and 25 character ratios to assess morphometric differences. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were 12 morphometric characters and 2 character ratios that can be used for discrimination of the three Draco species regardless of sexual differences. Among these three species, it was found that 13 morphometric characters and 7 character ratios and 15 morphometric characters and 8 character ratios can be used to discriminate female and male lizards, respectively. The results of cluster analysis produced a dendrogram of the relationships among the three species and revealed that the three Draco species were divided into two morphometric clusters at a level of 0% of information remaining in which the D. blanfordii cluster was distinctly different from the D. maculatus and D. taeniopterus cluster. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Discrimination of Two Tetragonula (Apidae: Meliponini) Species in Thailand using Geometric Morphometric Analysis of Wing Venation) ผู้เขียน:Atsalek Rattanawannee, Orawan Duangpakdee, Preecha Rod-im, Randall Hepburn สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractGeometric morphometrics is a novel powerful tool for the identification of bee species and subspecies. An application of this method is presented to discriminate two stingless bee species, Tetragonula pagdeni Schwarz, 1939 and Tetragonula fuscobalteata Cameron, 1908, in Thailand based on forewing venation. Nine landmarks were measured from the digitized right forewing of 200 workers (10 bees per colony). Eleven colonies of T. pagdeni and nine colonies of T. fuscobalteata collected from several locations in Thailand were determined. The positions of the groups in the principal component analysis plots revealed that the species are clearly distinct. Multivariate analysis of variance (? = 0.01) showed a significant difference between the bees of the sibling species, producing a high degree of accuracy (96.50%) in the identification of any individual bee of either species. Therefore, it is proposed that geometric morphometric analysis of single wings might be an appropriate first step in the analysis and identification of stingless bees and other insects. |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Classification of Three Crab Morphs in the Genus Scylla using Morphometric Analysis) ผู้เขียน:ดร.ประดิษฐ์ แสงทอง, ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์, ดร.อำนวย จรด้วง, ศาสตราจารย์ สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractOne hundred and fifty-four male mud crabs in the genus Scylla were collected from different coastal areas of the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, including Trat, Ranong and Surat Thani Provinces. They were classified into three morphs, “black”, “white” and “violet” based on their phenotypes and body colors. Fifty-one morphometric characters were observed and used for canonical variate analysis (CVA) and Mahalanobis’ Distance analysis. CVA results showed completely separation of three morph clusters with true correlation to its phenotypes and without overlapping among different clusters. Morphological differences among crab morphs were confirmed by considerably high value of Mahalanobis’ Distance in the range of 53.283 – 60.806 but those within morphs were in the range of 6.922 – 15.027. Both CVA and Mahalanobis’ Distance as well as their morphological data suggested that these three crab morphs of “black” “white” and “violet” should be classified into three distinct species of S. olivacea, S. paramamosain and S. tranquebarica, respectively. |
